It was not a Vespa brand and gauge of the plastic was less than what is with the Vespa brand. I replaced it with a Vespa brand smoked fly screen. Following a 300 mile trip in the cold rain it was replaced with a mid sized Vespa windshield. I occasionally drive on the I-40 and at 70 mph it suits me just fine.My wife has a full sized Vespa windshield on her LX 150.
I went from the stock fly screen to the full big sized one. With my full sized screen I feel great, no fatigue at all. Big screen made a huge difference for the passenger. The only thing that I found is a little, and I do mean a little bit different is that it catches the wind a bit when its windy. I wont change it out until it wears out, but if I had it to do again I would buy the Vespa OEM full screen.

Actually I think it was more stable / less wobble with the large screen than with the small screen! But a smooth and nice riding even with open face helmet and no glasses (also at speeds 80 mph!) The small screen however looks so much better IMHO...and having the wind in your face gives you more 'outdoor' feeling. )The small screen however looks so much better IMHO...and having the wind in your face gives you more 'outdoor' feeling.
Specifically designed for the Vespa GTS 125 and 300, it is intended for those users who seek to combine aesthetics and functionality equally, providing a slight aerodynamic protection without sacrificing a distinctive touch with the attractive design of Puig products. With very careful lines, the Sport dome is flat on its upper part to ensure greater visibility through it, displaying a sporty and elegant design that perfectly adapts to the round headlight and the aesthetics of this iconic scooter model. With its installation, in addition to achieving a more sporty and personalized look, aerodynamic protection is improved. This translates into greater driving comfort and reduced fatigue. It is available in three colors: transparent, light smoke, and dark smoke, to choose the one that best suits your Vespa GTS Super 125-300.
Post by dfwbill » Tue Aug 05, 2008 4:13 pmI just, this past weekend, installed the Genuine short Windscreen on my Hornet. It was well worth the 99 bux and the 20 minutes to do the install. Combine that with your helmet face shield, (I have an HCI 1/2 with the add on shield), it's just more fun with less beat-up. My partner's scoot has not come in yet, Tangerine must be popular, and at any rate he was giving me crap about the Windscreen until he took it to work today. First thing he did was email me how much it helped and he had the dealer put one back for him.
