Looks to be a lower mileage, Super in decent shape. If it is stuck at 30 but the odometer still clicks over, then the mileage may be somewhat accurate. Check under the bike and look for any rust areas on the bottom of the floorboard area. Ask what work has been done to it, if so, where/who did the work (professional shop or shade-tree mechanic). Basic starting point of what to look for and look at.
DescriptionSpeedo Drive Gear for Vespa 125 Super & Super 150Speedo Drive gear to turn the speedo cable on Vespa Super 125 or Super 150 (VNC or VBC) with 8" wheels. You have to be careful with ordering these large cable speedo drive gears because many of the "restored" VBC models were converted to the larger style of 8" wheel cable or 10" wheels which requires a different gear. You need to match this large gear with a large cable and a speedo that takes a large cable. This part fits:This gear originally fit:-Vespa 125 Super (1965-1969) - VNC-Vespa Super 150 (1965-1979) – VBC-Vespa Super 150 (1974-1977) – VBC (USA)Here at Scooterwest, we strive to bring you the highest quality parts available. We take quality seriously because we believe that Vespas should have their integrity preserved with quality parts.
Everything works including the running lights, front and rear brake lights and the horn. From what I've read, 1971 was the first year for auto lube and the design changed a lot beginning one year later in 1972. I don't know if that is accurate, but the auto lube is still working I have never had an issue with it. ⚠️ Last edited by apex on ; edited 2 times I have a 1971 VBC 150 Super that I am thinking of selling. Vintage Vespa VBC aftermarket front fender. Comes in black primer (may have a few small scratches and dents from shipping). These fit VBC 150 Super and VNC 125 Super Vespas, but may require some fitting. These are made in Italy, NOT Asia and are the nicest ones available.
Forbidden by the Allies from resuming his aviation business, Enrico Piaggio instructed his chief designer Corradino d'Ascanio to design a scooter, for which he believed a potential market existed, particularly among women. The name 'Vespa' (wasp) is said to have been inspired by the buzzing sound made by its single-cylinder two-stroke engine. Finished in a classic sky blue and white paint with a white leather saddle, the 150 is outfitted with chrome guards, desirable twin saddle seating arrangement, and a rear mounted spare tire. For a bit of added fun and charm, the Vespa is equipped with a matching sidecar—allowing for additional room for another friend or an overflowing bounty of wine, cheese, and prosciutto for a picnic. Beautifully presented throughout, this classic Italian offers fun transportation for three in great la dolce vita fashion.
