All of the 150cc models used the beautiful "clamshell" speedometer which was also used on the G.S. The 150 had a "Vespa 150" badge riveted to the right side of the legshield. The Vespa and Vespa 150 badges were made of flat aluminum. They had a similar layout to the later motors, but were not rotary valve. Bottom LineThe Vespa 150 is a robust scooter and capable of use on today's roads.

I've heard stories of multiple soft-seizes on long vintage rides, and wondered how bad they were. In a soft seize, the piston/rings and cylinder get a bit too friendly with one another due to thermal expansion, clearances get too tight and bits get stuck. As the parts cool and the clearances return, and they are free to move again. Three years later, the engine is still going along just fine, with no top-end rebuild required.

One of our latest clients Rick, contacted us with a view to tidying up his 1963 VBB Piaggio Vespa. With a dust-off Rick enjoyed putting around for a while before a few issues drove it back to storage again. After finding out about Ellaspede Rick thought it was time to have some work done. The VBB came up ok and with a polish and Rick was initially happy to run with the visuals as they stood. Rick has an appreciation for Italian design, evident in one of his other vehicles, so it seems fitting the Vespa has been given ‘qualche amore’.
If somebody has a clue of where one may be acquired--PLEASE CALL (813) 633-7295. I am 76 and have always wanted an early 60s vespa since I was a paper boy at 14 delivering 134 Miami Herald morning newspapers on a bicycle. Ever since one of the guys who folded papers with me at the hardware store had a vespa, I wanted one but parents were not open to that plan. I have other old scooters that I always wanted and finally the bike I have named GANGRENE. Yes No Thank
DescriptionUniversal 6V AC stator plate with 5 wires for most 1960's-1970's Vespa scooters that are AC (without a battery). Can also be modified to fit other Vespas or use the new coils off this stator on Small Frames, older Allstate, or Handle bar Vespa stator backing plates (VSB-VSC-VSD and others) (you will remove these coils and place them on your original stator, so it is worth it just for the coils). The Vespa Motorsport service department has gone through and tested each stator plate, so we know they are all GOOD. These come with 5 wires and must be used with Switch 092041 and Wire Harness 092563. Red and Black are for the HT coiland are for the HT coil Green is Headlight and Hornis Headlight and Horn Blue is Taillight-stop lightis Taillight-stop light Yellow is Running Light and Taillight
It is in fine condition and only being sold due to the enthusiast and collector looking to downsize his collection. We noticed a minor mark on the scooter which has been photographed, something that shouldn’t be too difficult to sort. This is a wonderful opportunity to own an Italian imported Vespa that has been kept dry and stored by a collector/enthusiast. As is normal for most auctions, this vehicle is sold as seen, and therefore the Sale of Goods Act 1979 does not apply. Any winning bidder who withdraws from a sale, is subject to our bidders fee charge.
