Here's a thread for the HT coil:You said that you overhauled your carb so I presume all the jets and carb body have been cleaned with carb spray and compressed air. I'm not sure on UK value on a VBB but many threads on the dreaded bodges that people pick up or try to pass on to others. http://www.scooterhelp/tips/timing/points.timing.html I'm not sure on UK value on a VBB but many threads on the dreaded bodges that people pick up or try to pass on to others. Not saying yours is but be aware. http://www.rovers-usa/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1938 Good luck and cool to have a bull terrier on watch duty.

Modern Vespa Rear hub installtion on my 1962 VBB

OP Min Member 1962 VBB Joined:Posts: 30Location: Californiaquote Greetings, I am brand new to Vespas since I undertook a 1962 VBB resto project about 2 months ago. So far I have the engine rebuilt by rebuilding what I had and supplementing what I was missing with parts. When I try to install the rear hub to the engine by tightening the castle nut, the hub gets pressed against the brake backing plate thereby immobilizing it. Also, I have new brake shoes to go with the hub but I can't seem to get hub to go over those shoes since the brake lining is too thick. Lastly, I can't see to source that retaining metal clip that holds the two brake shoes to a cam.

No Reserve Modified 1962 Vespa VBB

This 1962 Vespa VBB was refurbished and modified overseas to resemble the scooter ridden by Sting in the 1979 movie Quadrophenia, and it was imported to the US before being acquired by the seller in 2019. The scooter is finished in silver with chrome rear side covers and is powered by a 145cc two-stroke single paired with a four-speed transmission. This VBB is now offered at no reserve with an owner’s manual, a scooter cover, spare parts, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. The scooter was repainted in its current shade of silver under prior ownership and features chrome rear side covers and yellow GS graphics. An owner’s manual, a scooter cover, and assorted spare parts are included in the sale.

Vintage Vespa is one of the leading restorers of Vespa scooters in the world, They completely strip a Vespa 150 to the bare frame and start over, rebuilding or replacing every part, nut, and bolt to create an authentic restoration. Only structurally sound Vespas are considered for restoration, the others are cut up for parts with the back ends made in matching scooter trailers! The scooter has had very light use in the year since he took delivery, covering only 95 kilometers (under 60 miles). I gave the Vespa a test run (luckily I searched the Internet for operating instructions ahead of time and only needed a few reminders to drive the scooter around.) Internet searches have already turned up an electronic .pdf version 1962 Owner's Manual (see the links above) and exploded parts breakdown.

Retrospective Scooters

Registered as a 125, this Gulf themed VBB scooter has had an engine rebuild by ourselves with a DR180 kit fitted along with a 10" wheel conversion allowing for better handling. The custom paint scheme was done by our partners The London Scooter Bodyshop a few years ago and is still in great condition although the frame does have some damage to the paintwork in places. Fully serviced and ready to go, this vintage scooter is not something you see everyday. As a historic vehicle this scooter qualifies for free road tax and is both London ULEZ and Congestion Charge exempt.

VESPA VBB BM 228 Bello Moto SF

VESPA VBB (BM-228)The Vespa “VBB” is really the essence of the classic Vespa design. By the early 60’s, all of the mechanical and aesthetic aspects of the Vespa had really been perfected by Piaggio. It is really hard to beat a nice VBB for the money. Even now, fifty years on, these scooters are great for getting around an urban environment in style. This really is a great scooter for getting around the city and look good doing it.
