1966 VESPA SS 180 (BM-244) … SOLDThis is the type of scooter that are very difficult to find these days. One that still proudly wears its original paint. Even more so, she is a top of the line a Vespa Super Sport. The paint has a few scratches here and there, but it is in superb condition overall. We think that with some careful work, this scooter's paint would shine like new.
The rally 180 and rally 200 have the crappy old-style fork that dives. I've rebuilt dozens of P200 and Rally 200 engines. A restored or original SS180 should be worth more than a similar condition Rally 200. The rally 200 beats the SS180 in a some ways:1) Horsepower - there's no real arguing with that. If i had to choose one to ride across the country, i'd probably choose the Rally 200 for things like autolube, more horsepower, different gearing, etc.

The Super Sport was the first largeframe Vespa to be available in a choice of colors. On the trapezoid headlight models, the speedometer used was still the large clamshell style speedometer. The stalk, and the round metal taillight housing were painted the same color as the body. The front legshield badge said "Vespa S.S." and the rear one "Super Sport" in cursive font. There were other minor changes to the motor internally, but essentially, the Super Sport motor was little changed from the previous G.S.
Vespa Super Sport 180 fully restored by ourselves few years previously . Finished in the original colour scheme of Monza red. All matching frame and engine numbers having had our total overhaul throughout on engine,forks and bodytrim. Uk registered , starts and runs perfectly all good to go . Bad bits , there are a few paint blisters on the legshields and panels due to a non breathable cover being used .
