This series of Vespa scooters are the pinnacle of perfection to many die-hard Vespa enthusiasts out there… the very altar to which they pray. If I were to write a review about an unknown scooter, new to the market that had a MANUAL transmission, you would laugh. However time has progressed and the Vespa PX 200 is a bit harder to heap praise upon after riding such gems as the 250 GTS from that same Vespa stable. So this is a new version of an old bike, not a reworked, modified, modernised version but actually a new, old bike if that makes any sense.

I haven't clocked max with my SIP Road 2, but I doubt it changed much. My folks back in Boston shared this view of the P2s, and noted that some really struggle to break the 60mph mark even. I've since heard disagreement on this here on MV, but I don't know. I would encourage you try with a GPS, simply because most speedos are optimistic, while mine was actually a good 6 or so pessimistic at those speeds when last I checked.
History [ edit ]The Vespa PX was first presented in 1977 in Milan as the nuova linea model (new line). It was distributed as Vespa P 125 X and as Vespa P 200 E with an electronic ignition (E for Elettronica) and since 1978 as Vespa P 150 X. This electronic ignition was introduced to the other models, which then were called Vespa PX125E and Vespa PX150E, and in 1982 the Vespa P 200 E was called Vespa PX200E. This was marketed as the Vespa PX 125 T5 Classic. Production of the PX ended in early 2017 as the PX engine failed to meet Euro 4 compliance emission requirements.

DescriptionElectric Start, Oil-Injected Engine Cases for PX200. We went a really long time without any such spare part and a new replacement 200 motor have been long gone. Thankfully, the restoration craze that has been sweeping across Europe and Asia has fueled someone to convince Malossi and Pinasco to re-manufacturer a limited run of these engine cases. If you plan on swapping the parts from your non-electric start engine to these cases, you will need an electric start fan shroud. You will also need to plug an oil hole in the cases for the rear seal (PX cases use a different rear hub seals and bearings).
