I went ahead and pulled the flywheel, clutch cover, and selector box. The selector box was interesting to remove to say the least. Next up is a clutch rebuild, then on to top end rebuild... The jug and piston were already missing when I got her.The selector box was interesting to remove to say the least. Anyone have any thought before the clutch is reinstalled?Next up is a clutch rebuild, then on to top end rebuild...
I pulled of the engine side cowl and inspected in there but never pulled the battery side because, like, what is there to find in there? The little black handle just spins on the rod that goes to the petcock or whatever the Vespa world calls it. I texted his wife asking how he got it to shut off and her response was that he never has. Speaker wire battery strap. I'm actually looking at this picture now wondering if I need to somehow protect the stator wire coming into the condenser better where the sheathing is missing.
its the P style body, formerly referred to as the P-2-common -the modern bike when I started riding-Fantastic bike, revv it all day long wide open throttle, hard to kill. Worth about $2500 in perfect shape. Sure its more powerful and fast, but the 125 has a peppy gearbox and can go up hills all day long. I put the DR177 kit with a Sito and 22mm carb and it is faster than a stock 200. thanks for the info. i knew all about the 200, but the 125 was new to me, i figured it was a europe only bike.
As some of you may know, I am building an electric Vespa. First the battery. I could go with home built, but not sure I have the knowledge to do it myself. This is what I have so far:I could also use Allen's (195 x 230 x 140mm, or 7.7 x 9 x 5.5 inches) but am hoping for more Amp Hours. Suggestions for a vendor? The other problem is, the vespa swingarm is part of the motor, and I need a standard-ish swingarm to connect my Vespa to my motor.Something like this shape, but tubular off a regular MC or scooter.I'll post my progress, but would love some more input! Thanks,Jim 8)
