I used to think the Vespa brakes were fine, but coming back out of sport bikes, a sooped up Vespa is pretty freaking dangerous with stock brakes. With an overdrive kit on mine, it feels perfectly stock, but has some great pick up, enough to dust any stock 200 Vespa. This is because the carb sits pretty high up, perhaps 1.5" above the stock position. After a ton of kicking rocks, I stepped up and bought both SIP shocks (adjustable) and that really pulled everything together. I don't love the look, especially with their logo all over the place, but the performance is great.

Vespa 150 GS (VS1-5)In 1957 a Vespa GS VS1T was offered for the first time. The most striking feature of the GS 150 first series are the external cables on the handlebars. With the GS 150 VS4T from 1958, even if only minimal changes have been made. The very nice rear light housing is chrome plated, the plastic glass for the rear light is red, the one for the brake light is orange. With the GS 150 VS5T, the last series of the GS 150 was introduced to the dealers in 1959 and was sold until 1961.
