175mws The Host with the Toast Joined:Posts: 7199Location: SoCalquote old but still fun to read Motorcycle Oil vs. Keeping pace with the development of the small, high-revving, automobile engine, automotive oils have improved considerably, to the point where the newer, SG-rated automotive oils are nearly identical to motorcycle oils. We have yet to see a motorcycle oil compared in testing to the 1990's standard, SG-rated premium automotive oils. (See Figure 2)As can be seen from the figures, the best-performing oil of the group tested was Mobil 1 automotive oil, a fully synthetic product. These last two results (4-5) definitely do not agree with what the motorcycle oil producers have been telling us.
Seems there were some server problems this weekend but a phone call got it done! They ship priority mail which means 2-3 day delivery even though MN is a fair piece from CA. Wiring is VERY close and any changes in position or size will create more of an adventure than I'm in the mood for. Living in the temperature extremes of MN and NV I've not had extended service out of any battery at any price, so I'vr opted to save some $$. I'm good with my Battery Tender Jr.Lucky me, of the three possibilities for 2007 I got the lead acid Yuasa YB10L-B!
So basically all done, let it tick over up to temperature to get rid of airlocks if any. Revved it up on stand and cut out but only once. I went to take for a spin and cut out over bump, had a lightbulb moment and remembered I had not put on the spark plug. That can wait till the rain has gone.
