My next car was totaled by someone who wasn’t insured, and the payout wasn’t enough to get a new car — but it was enough to get a brand new Vespa. My grandmother gave us my grandpa’s old car for our wedding, so I own both a scooter and a car now. If I have to be someplace really nice, I really like to use a car instead so my hair looks better. A Vespa is a kind of scooter that’s made by a company called Piaggio — it’s like the model of a car (i.e., Vespa :: Piaggio as Accord :: Honda). My first helmet was made by Vespa, but regular motorcycle helmets are great and are cheaper (almost everything is cheaper without the Vespa logo).

Knowing I would not be riding far I left the raingear in the garage and opted for the more casual comfort of once water resistant riding jacket and pants. And if things really got bad I could breakout the waterproof rain jacket stored in the top case. I have a few rules when riding in the rain. Water is pooled on my lap where the riding jacket forms a basin. Almost home I stop for one last picture, a reminder of rain and light and wet rides.

The only cure for being afraid to ride in high winds is to ride in high winds and figure out how to deal with it. If you would prefer an alternative to the menu we have chosen, please tell your tour leader and he/she will telephone ahead to arrange it. IS IT DIFFICULT TO RIDE THE VESPA IN FLORENCE'S TRAFFIC? If riders get separated from the tour leader, for example at traffic lights, the tour leader will wait in the first safe place until all the Vespas are together again. We are just in front of the Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library) from which many hotels are located within easy walking distance of. Otherwise a taxi (you could ask your hotel to book it for you) would be the fastest option, dropping you off right at the entrance of the Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library).
