Boasting large-scale murals by some of the best-known international street artists and home to some remarkable local talent, Lisbon can claim to be the street art capital of the world, says Buenos Aires Street Art‘s Matt Fox-Tucker. This collaboration between Dutch muralists Telmo Miel together with Pariz One was painted during MURO Street Art Festival 2016 in Bairro Padre Cruz. Smile is another talented Portuguese street artist who specialises in hyper-realistic artworks and painted this giraffe in 2014 in Sacavém. LX Factory is a great spot to check out street art with some cool interventions by different street artists. This giant bee by Bordalo II can be found on the side of The Dorm – Hostel LX Factory.
This is ‘Vespa House’ just around the corner from my joint in Johnston Street, Collingwood in Melbourne’s inner east…I’m a fan of street art and always get a lot of pleasure from the work of urban artistes near me. I love the whole Vespa culture thing too, i think its about time i bought one. Post kids many of us have ‘moved in’, i’m one of those schmucks clogging up our inner city roads. Mind you, i’m only 3 km from Melbourne’s GPO so i get around on foot, by train and especially tram. Rome street artist pays homage to Special One with mural in Testaccio. José Mourinho, the incoming manager of Italian Serie A football team AS Roma, has been immortalised in a mural in Rome. The mural, by Roman street artist Harry Greb, features the former Tottenham boss on aboard a Vespa in the style of Gregory Peck from A Roman Holiday. Over his shoulders is a scarf in the Roma colours while his Vespa features the team's logo alongside Mourinho's self-awarded moniker of Special One. The mural appeared overnight on the corner of Via Giovanni Branco and Via Pietro Querini in the Testaccio quarter, an historic Roma stronghold.
