The Kawasaki KLX140 is the perfect bike for late tweens, teenagers, and adults to learn on. Kawasaki took the concept of one-engine-one-frame and offered three different versions of it to grow with - the KLX140R, KLX140L, and KLX 140F. The rear single shock with piggyback reservoir has a 20-way rebound damping and threaded preload adjustability with a 7.9-inch travel to complement any rider. The rear single 186mm petal disc with a single-piston caliper locks the wheel up or slows it down gently when needed. The KLX 140R F has a longer wheelbase than the others because of the longer swing arm to accommodate the taller rear wheel.
What is the top speed expected from a klx250sIve read that the klx250s is good for around 75-85 mph but ive had mine (09 klx) at 162kph/101mph now thats on the stock speedo. Had some tail wind helmet touching the handle bars 10500rpm 6th gear just screaming (had to try it). My buddy was behind me on a CBR929 his speedo (also stock) was showing 156kph our bike are always 4-5kph different. dont know whos bike is closer to the actual speed we were doing but some of his other buddies say his bike is the one off maybe i dont know. My bike is a 09 klx250s with full fmf exhaust, uni filter, kdx snorkle, dyno jet kit just so you know what you are comparing you bike with.
RE: LETS GO TOP SPEED KLXGot mine to 84-87 mph (135-140km/h) on a short stretch but im still breakin in the engine with a new 300cc bore. Fmf full exhaust line stock carb stock gearing. Maybe once broke in on a good day with no wind on a good stretch with 40 psi in the tires...im pretty sure I could get it to 150 km/h. I will see that in the next few days...
2021 Kawasaki KLX300SM First Ride Review We put Kawasaki's budget-friendly, approachable, small-bore Supermoto to the test. ADVERTISEMENTWhile it looks very similar to its KLX300 Dual Sport sibling we recently reviewed, there are a number of differences that set the two models apart. Other differences from the KLX300 Dual Sport include a larger 300mm semi-floating front disc (up from 250mm) with a 2-piston Nissin caliper. Where the Dual Sport likes to cruise at around 70 mph, the Supermoto’s sweet spot is around 75 mph. There was definitely an improvement in stopping force with the larger 300mm front disc (compared to 250mm on the Dual Sport).
