Almost but not quite, but with its low seat height adds confidence when riding the tricky stuff. More so now that I'm not so 'gun it and go' when riding over rough stuff. That's likley one of the biggest stand outs between the two I found, the KLX has the common steel pegs. If your bothered by the vibes coming through the soles of your boots keep them, otherwise take them off. If any KLX owner feels that way, they can have mine (not sure why I haven't thrown them out).
$5,949 for the Honda CRF250L Rally and $6,249 for the Rally ABS versus $5,199 for the CRF250L and $5,499 for the CRF250L ABS. By comparison, Kawasaki’s KLX250 is $5,399 while Yamaha ’s got two models: the XT250 for $5,199 and the WR250R for $6,699. As said, the KLX has superior suspension in comparison to the Hondas, along with weight being 20 lb less than the lightest Honda. The Yamaha XT makes the KLX look cutting edge with its 80s dual sport air cooled low level suspension. It would be like comparing a Kawasaki Z400 to a Ducati Streetfighter.
Then I did the clutch sensor bypass DIY job which certainly made a difference if only that the power didn't drop off towards 7000rpm. I then added an ECU from Dobeck direct from Dallas at Dobeck in the US as I was having trouble getting a response from their rep based here in Thailand. 42T rear sprocket and Zeta fuel cap from DirtShop on On Nut road. Green EK chain off the web from OPP racing who have awful customer service, so I dont' recommend them. However, its already alot of fun, so i'll see how it goes.Kris
I think you will find it difficult to get a chain & sprockets kit for 14/40. btw I only like the 14/39 because I have a 331BB & can accelerate hard with 14/39. They supplied my DID gold X-ring chain & contacted Supersprox for me to custom build a 39T rear sprocket for me. It's not obvious from their website but just email them & they can supply any combo you want. I got the DID ERT2 Gold & it has needed adjusting ONCE in 10,000km & still looks brand new....incredible chain!
