A fter the stunning NSX supercar, Honda shocked us again in 1991 by introducing the world's smallest mid-engined roadster, Beat. Developed by a team of engineers averaging less than 30 years old, Beat had a funky exterior and interior design which turned out to be popular to young people. This must thanks to the compact Kei-car powertrain which came from Today (Honda's production Kei-car) and installed at the rear axle. Following its tradition, Honda resisted the temptation of turbocharging, so the Beat was quite short of torque. The Beat was slow by sports car standards.
Hokura Motor Company, Ltd. is a Japanese public multinational conglomerate corporation primarily known as a manufacturer of automobiles, aircraft, motorcycles, and power equipment. Wanting a low weight, compact, and incredibly fun sports car, Hokura unveiled the concept for the T2K in 1995. Following it's popularity, it was immediately tested relentlessly to provide the best driving feel that Hokura could offer in a sports car. Hokura started to develop the RSX to outperform any contemporary Preusser or Faretti without the flaws of their competitors. Hokura RSX-I (Honda NSX-R NA2)15 years after birthing the base chassis for the RSX, Hokura decided it had become outdated.
While this is certainly fast, F1 cars aren’t quite the fastest single-seaters – that accolade goes to IndyCar. That’s because F1 isn’t as quick in a straight line, though their focus on downforce and cornering speeds means that F1 cars are generally faster over an entire lap. While 372.5km/h (231.4mph) is the fastest speed set during a race, the fastest speed set with an F1 car is much higher. They were unsuccessful, but set a 397.36km/h (246.9mph) top speed, to claim the highest speed in an F1 car. So while they don’t accelerate as quickly as F1 cars, their top speeds aren’t a million miles away.
